The rental vacancy rate in WA has plunged to the lowest in 42 years. December 2022 saw the rate drop to 0.6%. Regional markets are also experiencing low vacancy rates, with Albany at just 0.3% and Kalgoorlie at 0.5% in December 2022. With low rates and strong demand, comes higher rental prices.
Whilst the east coast market drops, the WA market is holding steady with 0% in price changes in the last 3 months. The rest of Australia recorded an average drop of 3.3% in value, whilst rental values have increased by 11.2% in December 2022 alone.
